Oral Health Matters During Pregnancy [video]

  • February 26, 2018
  • Pregnancy is an exciting time. You’re growing a new person inside your body, and probably envisioning how life is going to change.

It’s especially important to take care of your health — dental and otherwise — during this critical period. Your baby’s bones are already forming, so be sure to get plenty of calcium and other essential minerals. You may also be subject to hormone-induced gum problems, a condition called pregnancy gingivitis. Folic acid helps promote gum health.

Watch this video from the American Dental Association to learn more about pregnancy and how it affects your teeth and gums.

If you’re due for a dental checkup, schedule an appointment with Gilbart Dental Care. You may reach us online or call one of our MD offices: Frederick at 240-513-7523 or Hagerstown at 240-347-0910.
