RELIEVING DENTAL ANXIETY

Do you suffer from dental fear or dental anxiety? The team at Gilbart Dental Care can help! Let’s talk about the options we offer that will help you feel at ease. Please contact us with any concerns you may have.

Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia is the most important thing we can use to ensure your comfort. If a dental procedure may cause any discomfort at all, we numb the area using local anesthesia before we begin. This eliminates your ability to feel pain or discomfort during the procedure. It can also be adjusted throughout the procedure — so please let us know if you begin to regain feeling, and we will adjust the anesthesia to fit your needs.

Inhaled Sedation

Inhaled sedation is a very light form of sedation we can use to help you feel relaxed during an appointment. If you are a bit anxious about your procedure and need just a little help feeling at ease, this option might be great for you. This type of sedation is safe for patients of all ages.

The safe gas is inhaled via a face mask before the procedure. It creates a sense of euphoria, allowing the patient to feel at ease. It works readily and wears off quickly. It is also easily adjusted during treatment. This is a wonderful solution for patients with mild dental fear or dental anxiety. We are currently planning on offering this sedation option at the Hagerstown location only.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Oral conscious sedation is a medication we offer to help you feel very relaxed during treatment. You simply take the pill or tablet before the appointment. The medication will create a slight grogginess, allowing you to relax throughout your visit. This is also a fairly light form of sedation and will allow you to communicate with our team throughout your appointment. You should remain fully conscious.

All types of sedation are safe under the supervision of our highly trained dental team. Please contact us if you have any questions about our sedation options.
